FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Fat Dissolving Injections

What is Fat Dissolving Injections?
Fat Dissolving Injections is a treatment that helps to dissolve stubborn fat deposits simply and non-surgically.
What areas can fat dissolving injections treat?
• Double chin • Upper arms • Love handles/waist • Stomach • Hips • Inner/Outer thighs • Knees • Breast (men)/ Moobs • Buttocks • Back • Bra bulge
How does the treatment work?
In the first consultation you will meet with the specialist and discuss the treatment, your goals and the procedure itself. On the day of treatment, the specialist will add local anaesthetic into the solution and inject into the fat tissue with a very fine needle. Immediately after treatment the treated area(s) will become swollen this may last a few days.
What can I expect after my first treatment?
Results are seen gradually over the 3 – 4 weeks after treatment and the maximum effect can take up to 12 weeks. The treatment involves a special formula to break down the fat cells in the treated area and your body works to flush out the liquefied fat itself; depending on your own physiology.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments required will vary for each person according to the volume of localised fat, the desired degree of correction and the individual’s reaction of the fat tissue. On average you should expect at least two treatments carried out 6-8 weeks apart. The treatment is permanent as the fat cells are destroyed however it is important you keep a strict and healthy diet.
Is it safe and what are the side effects?
Yes, Fat Dissolving Injections are safe when carried out by medical professional. However some redness and swelling is to be expected following the treatment.

Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP)

What is PRP?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy involves injection of the patient’s own platelets and fibrin for cosmetic treatment of wrinkles or scars in face, hands and neck. It can also be used for many other areas such as for rejuvenating hair thinning.
What is PRP treatment used for?
• Skin rejuvenation • Hair loss treatment • Anti-Aging treatment • Post laser
How does the treatment work?
In the first consultation you will meet with the clinician and discuss the treatment, your goals and the procedure itself. Once you are satisfied, the clinician will take a small amount of blood from your arm using a small needle. The vial of blood is then placed in a centrifuge and spun very fast causing the platelet rich plasma to separate from the other blood cells. Before treatment the clinician will apply local anaesthetic to numb your treatment area. The clinician will then clean the area and inject the platelet rich plasma into, and around, the area you wished to be treated. Immediately following the treatment you will notice a little swelling from the injected fluid.
How many treatments will I need?
Each person’s body reacts differently to any treatment which means that responses to treatments vary. We will advise you on how many treatments are needed dependant on your requirements and skin type. Generally, people have between 1 and 3 sessions and your appointments will be 4 to 6 weeks apart. There is no limit to the number of PRP treatments you can have but on average results last up to 18 months. Touch-up treatments will maintain the results.
Are there any side effects?
No, there are no side effects as you are using your own bloods platelets however it is possible that a person may have irritation, pain, or bleeding related to the injection site.
